NSW State Budget 2005-06

Overview

On Tuesday 24 May 2005, the NSW State Budget was handed down by the Treasurer, The Hon Dr Andrew Refshauge, MLC.

NCOSS staff attended Parliament House on the day and began an analysis of the Budget Papers, looking specifically at the impacts of the Budget on the social and community services sector and disadvantaged people and communities in NSW. Shortly after, NCOSS held a media conference at Parliament House and issued the first of three media releases on these impacts.

On the same day, NCOSS staff attended portfolio budget briefings held by NSW human services departments. During the afternoon, NCOSS staff and over 40 representatives from the NSW community sector continued the analysis of the Budget at NCOSS.
