National Disability Insurance Scheme PDF Print E-mail
19 August 2011
The Productivity Commission has proposed a National Disability lnsurance Scheme because it has determined that the current disability support system is underfunded, unfair, fragmented and inefficient and gives people with a disability little choice and no certainty of access to appropriate supports.

The NSW Government has welcomed the recommendations of the Productivity Commission in its inquiry into Disability Care and Support as proposed in the Final Report of the Inquiry.

The NSW Minister for Disability Services, the Hon. Andrew Constance MP, has called on the Parliament and the community to support the scheme and for all people living in NSW to join the Every Australian Counts campaign. NCOSS joins him in that call.
