NCOSS Briefing Paper: Each year the Productivity Commission releases a Report on Government Services. This report reviews Government service provision across all State and Territories. NCOSS has prepared a summary of some of the key statistics from the Justice and Corrective Services Chapter of the Report.
NCOSS Submission: NSW Attorney General's Review of the Bail Act. NCOSS has long been a strong advocate for changes to the bail laws, which are resulting in more people being held on remand, many of whom do not subsequently receive a custodial sentence.
NCOSS Submission: Comments on the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Bill 2010 and the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny)(Consequential Provisions) Bill 2010 Inquiry. Submission focuses on key issues that we believe need to be considered in order to have an effective Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights. We have also limited our comments to the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Bill 2010 (the Bill).
NCOSS Statement of Support: NCOSS calls on the NSW Government to end discrimination against same-sex couples. Currently the definition of a 'de facto' partner in the Adoption Act 2000 excludes same-sex couples.
Submission: NCOSS Submission to the National Human Rights Consultation.
