NCOSS Submission: Region 12 Bus Network Review
NCOSS Submission: IPART Transport Discussion Papers on the structure and level of CityRail fares and determining City Rail's revenue requirements and how it should be funded.
NCOSS submission: NCOSS believes that those people who may
already face disadvantage in their access to transport and
environmentally sustainable housing need to be involved in the
discussion about these issues. That is a 'social inclusion' model of
consultation and implementation needs to be adopted.
NCOSS Submission: There has been significant, above CPI
growth, in taxi fares since 1999. This growth in fares is very
concerning from a social sustainability viewpoint, since it is has
arguably led to deterioration in the capacity of low income people to
purchase taxi services.
NCOSS Submission: The Disability Service Standards (Transport
Standards) are an important part of ensuring access to public transport
for people with disabilities. As the report notes, however, there are
many areas that still require change or modification now that the
implementation phase has been running for 5 years.

NCOSS proposal for a $10 ticket for Sydney Public Transport a Smart Move This discussion paper proposes the development of a Day Fare ticket for Greater Metropolitan Sydney and NSW regions for public transport services. The aim of the ticket is to promote increased affordability for people who need to use a number of services – bus, rail or ferry – to get to their destination.
NCOSS Submission: NCOSS makes comment on the proposed cost indices for assessing taxi operating costs. NCOSS supports a clearer process for determining the social impacts of fare determinations to be weighed against operating cost increases.
Who uses public transport? An analysis of the income characteristics of public transport users in Sydney. Demonstrates strong representation by low income users across all modes, in particular bus and rail services.
NCOSS Submission: NCOSS provides information of issues affecting low income users of taxis in NSW. Based on previous above CPI fare increases for taxis, NCOSS argues for restraint in the 2006 Determination.
