Networking for Success
How to build and create effective partnerships, alliances and coalitions in a competitive environment
12 May 2000
The
community sector needs strong networks and cooperative relations between
agencies to get good results for our clients and customers. How can we pool
ideas and resources as we face fiscal restraint and contestability for government
service contracts? How do we maintain a cooperative ethos in the human services
industry? How do we keep 'community' in the community sector?
The conference considered success stories in regional networking, competitive tendering, brokering and collaborative service delivery. Strategies and models for better cooperation in integrated service delivery, referrals, inter-agency protocols, use of information technology, marketing, training, and co-location were also discussed.
